Questions Before You Submit
Everything you need to know about reviews, turnaround times, ownership, revisions, and what happens after you submit.
01 Who reviews my music?
Every submission is reviewed by a verified reviewer. Our reviewers may include producers, engineers, music educators, playlist curators, and experienced industry professionals.
02 Is the feedback generated by AI?
No. Every review is written by a real person. Upstream exists to provide genuine human feedback from experienced listeners and music professionals.
03 What do I receive with my review?
Each review includes a detailed scorecard, category ratings, strengths, areas for improvement, and written feedback designed to help you make stronger creative decisions.
04 How long does a review take?
Standard reviews are typically delivered within 48 hours. Priority delivery options may also be available at checkout.
05 Can I choose my reviewer?
Pro Reviews may allow you to request a top-rated reviewer. Availability can vary depending on reviewer demand and scheduling.
06 What genres do you accept?
We accept most genres, including Pop, Hip-Hop, Rap, Country, Rock, Indie, R&B, Electronic, Singer-Songwriter, and more.
07 Can I submit unreleased music?
Absolutely. Many artists use Upstream before release to identify weaknesses, improve mixes, and gain confidence before launching a track.
08 Will reviewers own any rights to my music?
No. You retain full ownership of your music at all times. Submitting a song for feedback does not transfer rights, royalties, publishing, or ownership.
09 Can I request another review after making changes?
Yes. Our Rerun option allows you to submit an updated version of your track and receive additional feedback after revisions.
10 Do you offer refunds?
Because reviews require reviewer time and expertise, completed reviews are generally non-refundable. If there is an issue with your order, contact us and we will work to make it right.
